Peaceful Korea

South and North Korea have been peaceful for a few years now. We have some spy incidents here and there but overall we have been pretty good. During the Korean War, we had a lot of problems, and they haven't been solved yet. But I think that over all, we are doing a good job keeping both countries peaceful. The War left big scars to both countries, but I think that both countries understand that and are trying hard for that not to happen again.

I know that North Korea has had problems with other countries like the US and they think that North Korea might be the devil or something like it. But honestly, I don't really believe so. North Korea has been really good to South Korea in the past few uears. We can now go on tours to visit the country. This was not possible just a few years ago.

I love my country. And I believe that North and South Korea are one, and that they can become one. I think that we can keep this peaceful environment forever. This is everyone's belief and hope in both countries.

Soo Jung,
I'd like to see a little more personal reflection in your PEACE blog. How does the division of Korea affect your family? Does it? As you might know, Germany was divided, too. When I grew up, nobody could imagine unification, but now the two halves are unified.

I think there is no right or wrong when it comes to war. If we live in that place, then of course we would say we are right. In war, there is lots of killing and we can't just blame one side for it when both sides are doing it.
